An intimate summer celebration filled with lush greenery, meaningful moments, and timeless romance.

Carly and Elliot's wedding at Rouge in Calgary brought together everything that makes a garden wedding so beautiful: lush greenery, timeless details, and an atmosphere that felt effortlessly romantic.

Set against the historic charm of Rouge, their July celebration was filled with meaningful moments, genuine laughter, and the kind of joy that comes from being surrounded by your favourite people.

From their private vows to a beautiful outdoor ceremony beneath the trees, every part of the day felt personal, relaxed, and entirely their own.

A Summer Romance at Rouge

THE STORY

Carly and Elliot began their wedding day getting ready separately before meeting for their first look at Confederation Park. We spent time capturing their portraits and wedding party photographs, surrounded by greenery and a group of friends who brought so much energy and excitement to the day.

Before the ceremony, they shared private vows in a room overlooking the space where they would soon exchange their promises in front of family and friends.

Their ceremony took place beneath a canopy of trees, with romantic florals and soft drapery creating a beautiful garden setting. Officiated by Carly's cousin and best friend, it was an intimate and personal celebration from beginning to end.

THE CEREMONY

Private Vows Beneath the Garden Trees

One of the things I love most about photographing weddings at Rouge is the contrast between its historic interiors and lush outdoor gardens.

The venue offers so many beautiful settings for wedding photography, from its charming architectural details to the natural greenery surrounding the property.

For Carly and Elliot, this combination created the perfect backdrop for elegant, timeless portraits that still felt natural and true to them.

PORTRAITS

Timeless Romance at Rouge

What stood out most about Carly and Elliot's wedding was how genuinely happy everyone was to be there.

Their wedding party brought so much energy, laughter, and excitement to every part of the day. You could feel how close this group of friends was and how much they loved celebrating together.

With their portraits completed before the ceremony, Carly and Elliot were able to spend their cocktail hour with their guests instead of stepping away for more photographs.

It was a celebration that felt relaxed, joyful, and full of connection.

THE CEREMONY

Good Company, Beautiful Moments

When planning Carly and Elliot's photography timeline, I wanted to make sure they had space to enjoy their wedding day without feeling rushed.

We built extra breathing room into the morning so they could spend time with their friends, then scheduled their first look, couple portraits, and wedding party photographs before the ceremony.

This gave them the freedom to be fully present with their guests throughout cocktail hour.

Rouge is such a beautiful Calgary wedding venue for couples who love timeless architecture and romantic garden settings. Between the historic interiors and outdoor greenery, there are plenty of opportunities to create a varied collection of photographs without needing to travel far.

Carly and Elliot's wedding was a beautiful reminder that thoughtful planning creates more room for the moments that matter most.
